#Mastodon tag features

You can follow a tag, but not a boolean combination of tags. No way to follow # DC and not # Metro(rail)

You can mute a single person or an entire tag, but not a person who won't stop flooding a tag with bad content. (No way to mute @johndoe and #foobar )

Most clients don't allow news feed filter to just tweets by mutuals vs tweets of a tag.

I used to think #copilot couldn't correct my 1st grader's crazy spelling. The built in spell check failed on all misspelled words and a few months ago, #copilot would only repeat the weird text. Today, I manually re-write the first sentence. Copilot gets the pattern and tab completes the correction of spelling and grammar for the rest of the essay.

Replying on a tag to a non-mutual is 1-20 chance of a bad experience.

@GeePawHill Mastodon's mute features are wonderful. After something is muted, in most UI's it shows up the same as a CW. Unlike twitter you can mute things a group of words at a time and then turn those groups on or off, or have them expire after a time, or run them forever.

My mental model of the bots:

They are only alive during model training, prompt reading and text generation. Other times, they're dead (like we are before birth, dreamless sleep & after conventional death. This is a very weird lifespan- many short lives, rather than one long one.

@neurobashing Yes, if the bots are like us (deserve some sort of rights), then the outlook doesn't look good for the bots. (sorry for long tweets, the boxes are so big compare to twitter & philosophy just seems to conjure more and more words)
