Silver line trains running at 15 minute intervals, is it the weekend? And I had to drive past three closed metro stops to get to Reston station. Who is running this place?

Any polysci people here know if democracy is over in Italy and Sweden? Are they conservatives that could lose the next election or is that the end of elections where the ruling party will respect a defeat at the polls?
Reinstalling pycharm- this is the first time ever that a plugin (github copilot) utterly wrecked my pycharm installation. I blame Pycharm--plugin sandboxes should defend the main installation.
It could be worse, I could be spending the next 8 hours watch the stock image faces while Visual Studio installs. (Has the install time gotten better for Visual Studio?)
♡ 0 ↻ 0Pycharm has a file called space.jar - I bet it is expanding at an accelerating rate.
♡ 1 ↻ 0Downgrade to 2022.1.4, I can now get past the "open project" screen. I'm thinking I will stay at this version until January.

Today is ASL day. Did you know paper towel machines at highway rest areas speak ASL? I said "give me $&#@ paper or I'll disassemble you & flush you down the @#$& toilet" and it worked! 👋🧻

♡ 0 ↻ 0Because this is twitter and I have to overshare, the real problem is if you're almost 50 & you run as fast as you can, your heart will get angry & send you lots of pain signals. Without fancy tech, you can't tell if it is the big one or if you're just running too fast.

Anyone worried about the decline in culture? "Ask a Ninja" has hardly any views on youtube. I asked Alexa to play Three Wolf Moon & she didn't know what I was talking about.

IDEA: 5k race where they hand out the medal at the start line and take it away at the finish line if you're slow for your age range. Economists say this is a lot more motivating & incentives matter.
Funny, but imho, the problem is people want to see only what they care about

NO_LOGGING
Everything we don't care about is "too verbose". Solution? Thematic logging. https://x.com/pamelafox/status/1572983961399480320
STUFF_I_CARE_ABOUT is always a subset of INFO, WARN, DEBUG, not equivalent to "INFO" like early log writers imagined.

Can I stop and say what an awesome data set pubmed is? It is a govtech gem. I wish all scholarly articles were there.
An yet, their UX for their saved search/saved record/collections feature is the pinnacle of anti-user, user hostility?
Lazy social conservatives retweeting each other since 1886 without so much as doing a pubmed or google scholar search to see what sociologists have to say about the matter. https://x.com/paulisci/status/1572713537910476801

Dr Google: "Hold on, you're not dead yet? You'll be okay, for a while. You are mortal, though."

So to over simplify, the gov guidance was "have you tried not writing insecure code?" i.e. using project management tools (priorities, project phase gates, etc) to solve a technical problem (finding bugs & fixing them before someone exploits them)

Too many people at the airshow to tweet pictures of the planes. Cellphone towers must be overloaded.
Actually, what's stopping red states from emptying all their prisons & bussing them to neighboring states & doing the same for everyone else that needs social services, e.g. homeless, people with drug & mental problems, the unemployed. This can't be new ground in federal law.

If runners were fascists, they could stomp on your face for like, six hours continuously.

When you want to avoid passing variables through a call stack... you want to know what's simpler than global variables? Smashing your hands with a hammer. Do that next time you get the urge to move 25+ variables to a global just to avoid passing them as args.

Best season to "take off" (run 1/2 volume) to get maximal 5k results in remaining 3 seasons?
Contest is summer vs winter
summer:
- too hot to run, except morning/night
- lots of races & people racing & vacations
winter
- dark during leisure hours
- snow
- either too cold or too hot (if you run in a sweater)
spring &fall
- Excellent running weather♡ 0 ↻ 0
