Can installation for the awscli v2 be made more confusing? No, it is at maximum entropy, it is beyond the point of explicability. I don't know why this isn't already aggressively typosquatted on pypi until everyone's $ is stolen.
I got two of these... me and that guy and Nebraska, the world is counting on us.

IDEA: frogger game, but all the cars are self driving Teslas and player wins if the Teslas crash or kill wildlife.
Easy mode is where the Tesla has to decide if it needs to kill a linear combination of people and frogs, e.g. 3 frogs and 2 people, or 100 frogs and 1 person, or 100 frogs and a 0.0001% chance of 1 person, or 1 frog 1 person vs 2 frogs and 3 people... etc.

So the funeral was 24 hours away from being a superspreader event (attendee got symptoms 1 day before event). About 2/3 of my extendent family has gotten covid. 1/10 of those long covid. I feel like I'm playing frogger on difficult mode.
Status: went to Ohio to watch the clash of cultures. You could see the points where the convos wanted to go off the rails, but everyone was friendly & it didn't. (by didn't of everyone avoiding talking about partisan issues)
I don't see these as teachable moments- action & opinion change happens at the margin, with the uncommitted & people on the fence.

I killed 68 people in the trolley simulator. Wife says most people suck and I should have aimed for a higher score. What's your score? Do really trolley drivers have to take tests like this?

Q of Day: Should open source projects boycott Github on principle about Copilot (yet another attempt to make $ with opensource)?
No. Abandon Github if some1 else has a better project because bill have to be paid someone & switching to a different free service w/business plan...
is (most likely!) switch to a company whose monetization plan is to sell out to a big company like Microsoft.
This isn't a pure hobby.♡ 0 ↻ 0
So imagine a room, in the room is a guy who knows nothing, but can use stackoverflow & GH copilot. Periodically some1 prints out a jira ticket & slips in under the door & after mechanically copying & pasting code from SO, he slips back a printout of the source of the compete app
Is anyone on the chain intelligent? Why would they setup a stupid workflow like this? Is there like an opposite to Artifical Intelligence, because this would be it, natural stupidity. Is the aggregate smart? Would you like to invest in this startup?

The power of python decorators is that with a mere 250 line decorator, you can save yourself six or eight lines of code. Just incredible power and expressiveness.

The only bit of optimism I have is that right now, in people's heads, abortion is okay when called for. Changing the laws doesn't change that. Do you understand how hard it is to create (or undo) widespread change in attitudes like that?
Go join the vegans or the esperantists and look at how much progress they've made and despair at how hard it is to change hearts & minds. The papist court will create a papist legal system & it isn't going to change most people's behaviors.
♡ 0 ↻ 0(It is also possible we're all moral monsters and will collectively switch to brutal fascism if only the SC would give us the chance, but change is hard & the SC might as well be legislating we all speak Esperanto or go Vegan.)

Trilemmas are
You can't understand politics without paying attention to who is an ideologue and who is partisan. The partisans want their tribe to win, kill all the men, take the women & salt the fields of the other tribe. The ideologues want a list of policies.
For partisans, it's game theory and where one side wins the other must be losing. For ideologues, they got ideas, rules they want
Low tax Republicans = ideologues
Free speech Republicans = ideologues
Trump = partisan. Policy driven by opportunists & a desire to crush the other.♡ 0 ↻ 0White supremacists are ideologues & there aren't a lot of them. What we got a lot of are partisans, the plumbers & exmilitary & office workers who don't have any policy opinions just want to see their enemies fall. The coalition structure makes it hard to make sweeping statements
♡ 0 ↻ 0The Rs are funded by billionaire opportunists who are not ideologues or partisans, they have a coalition with religious ideologues (Catholics who want the inquisition) & a coalition with a huge class of policy apathetic working class populist-partisans.
♡ 0 ↻ 0Somehow the left lost the working class & populism, that is the coalition that could be revived.
Anyhow, I'm just a bystander watching the tides roll in and out thinking about how much energy it would take to change it. I alone can at best make a small wave.♡ 0 ↻ 0
I wrote a side project and accidentally used strings as a fundamental type. Usually its obvious eg.
age = "33"
date_of_birth ="05-05-2003"
My app processes user input in the form of strings & I was using those strings as the fundamental type instead of the command object.
Covert messy input to real* types ASAP and keep most of the code base working with those.
* i.e. not strings, serialization formats, things that need parsing before you can work with them.♡ 0 ↻ 0
