Things I thought computer could never do:
1) Enhance or zoom in a blurry photo to perfectly crisp like a 1980s movie trope
2) Tab auto completion after you've only typed `def `
IDEA: the vi webbrower. It just returns HTTP 500, until you enter a highly specific DSL string or reboot your computer. The modern version would write "F*ck You!" to the screen over and over instead of a cryptic and user unfriendly HTTP 500.
Reading up on why I still refuse to use vi. My first experience with vi in the 90s was with the "F*ck U" user interface, where all actions fail to tell you what went wrong. Turns out that the pattern was just copied from ed. But look at modern edlin:
