I'm endlessly curious about how people in California can afford those houses ($10K/mo mortgage on 0% down). Lemme tell you how I afford a $600K in VA. I earn $147k, the wife doesn't work. We got $225K from equity in RE we used to own*.
The $375K mortgage will be 15 years at 2.75% interest. Because I can't afford to pay a mountain of principle & a mountain of interest, I have to structure it so I'm paying a mountain of principle and a small hill of interest.
