Home prices going up 100k a year (i.e. 20% a year, year after year) is like loosing 10 years of retirements savings. If wages don't keep up, rising RE prices is like losing 5%- 10% of your income every year.

You'd think after the pandemic and all, things like this would be solved & order apps could expect mistakes on quantities. (like have you ever ordered bananas? Society doesn't know if 1 means 1 banana or 1 bunch or 1 lb)

Anyhow, I really don't understand the utility of this sort of rule because I pay for my Pluralsight sub out of pocket and I do have a Udemy sub free from my employer. I think Pluralsight is telling me what they think about my business with them.

The UX is not "hey man, can you cut our servers some slack and slow down", but HTTP 403 (followed up by an email where they want you to acknowledge some sort of ToS violation)

My WFH schedule is 8am-11pm with long breaks, averaging ~9-10 hours of working screen time. It is the '15 minutes' every x hours moves a project forward phenomena. I see it on vacation days, where 15 minutes of work saves me/others a day of waiting.

The days of top 40 radio making sure everyone could productively discuss a common music environment are long gone. I don't even recognize any songs from the top 40.

A CMK key is like adding a big red "destroy it all" button to the system. I don't see the attraction of CMKs

If I create a pipenv file on a build server or in a container, it is a controlled environment & but build servers run all the time. If I make it a manual step on a build server, it runs periodically, & also now I got a lock file I have to somehow push to git from inside gitlab

And not using a lock file isn't a good option either- a pypi package could be highjacked any day by a malicious user or upgraded with incompatibilities by a non-malicious user.

You can lock the dependencies list but you can't lock the vulnerability lists, so again, keeping your dependencies locked but stale isn't a great choice.

While watching it, I thought, what if instead of creating potential new social organizations ( & dystopias) based on crappy electricity hungry, immutable databases, we created new social organizations based on sqlite. It would be a good database.
