So if you want to run OS updates on container boot up & run as non-root, you have to do something other than `USER app_user` in the Dockerfile, you'd need to use `supervisord` or `su` or something to drop down to a lesser user. Right?

If we all wear black turtle necks, we'll all get start-up funding. Or warm necks. Think about it.
Just thinking about how many mistakes I've made in my career with permissioning systems. I think the complexity and the $#!+ UI/UX guarantees that IAM, SQL, windows, linux file permissions are all self-sabotaging clusterf*ks, a wasteland of nonstop errors and mistakes.
The designers who refuse to take into account human elements demonstrate themselves not to be geniuses of cybersecurity but saboteurs of the basic foundation of modern society. We put up with it because we all think that we are the stupid ones.

Joke construction kit: "Bills to pay" and "Bill's toupee" sound the same. Today I'm the IKEA of jokes.
Supply chain weirdness: So this project lost their pypi credentials & had to publish under a new pypi name. As a library user, I'd want to know that a package is the same as the code from such & such a git repo. Either by cryptographic signature or because the bits are the same.

Ill considered things I've done
- try to see if http://last.fm still works (nope)
- delete files/folders of dead programming projects (so many)
- delete stuff from "save for later" cart in Amazon (so many, so slow)
So much of this stuff that just digitally accumulates
Everything that give a user crap should come with a tunable garbage collector. Making the user do manual destruction & reclamations is an ugly pattern. Not that I want autodelete but something better than this.

I write a semi-serious tool to turn SO answers into python packages, I get 0 stars.
Someone else writes a 1-page version and they get thousands of stars.

Snow, ha. There is grass again in my rock garden. It is spring. If it snows, it will fall two feet and turn into rain.
Okay, in my tiny DC area social circle 2 people just got covid. Our endgame protocols
- Wearing the good mask when out. Playgrounds, but no indoor venues again
- Running our Winix airfilters at home
- Instacart again
- In my household, out of 4 people no particular symptoms, so we're not testing (too heavy a lift w/o classic symptoms)
Thanos is going to snap his fingers and between 0.5% and 0.25% of us are going to disappear.♡ 1 ↻ 0

Opensource means you are free to fix things as in, you are free to fix every problem in the world in your spare time.
This tool has no explicit license & no way to contact the maintainer. So I'm "free" to read the code and re-implement it from scratch.

Everyone was wondering (or pretending we couldn't possibly) if we'd have a hockey stick death curve... well in Fairfax County, here it is:

#gitlab #github - create a `docs` branch and tell your gitalb-ci.yml file to skip the full build with unit tests, etc
When you use git as a wiki, you can have 100s of commits, none of them will require running unit tests or deploying to AWS on event of punctuation in markdown
Ironically, the organization that never goes out of business, does a lousy job of maintaining opensource sites-- so many govtech repos that clearly when quiet when the contract period ended. Would it be implemented differently if the goal was to put it up for adoption?

So your AWS target groups' health checks get called every second instead of every 30 and AWS says, well, that's normal (handwaving)
https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=266796
AWS sometimes hammers you app with 1000+ health checks per second, even if you set the interval to 30 seconds.

If a linter disagrees with an autoformater, the linter is wrong. If pylint disagrees with black, pylint is wrong. If prettier disagrees with anything that prettier can format, than any corresponding linter (who complains about formatting) is wrong.

Every year at the Christ family's house, it's a tense moment when Mrs Christ asks Joses, Judas, Simon & James, "Why haven't you made anything of yourself? Why can't you be more like Jesus. People know him, he's a famous theologian & revolutionary. No one knows you" Then she sighs
Because of spacetime & relativity problems, you need a separate way to calculate if it is Christmas for all frames of reference, as Christmas will be at a different time on Mars and on objects moving near the speed of light. And photons, it is never Christmas for them.
