Know I remember why I swore I'd never move again...the back pain. Every new set of home keys comes with an episode of back pain.
I've been waiting for this day and.... all the CCG games I that look interesting are "free to play" but they aren't really, because they just want you to buy cards in-game & there are no sales for that. https://x.com/Steam/status/1408116125380976640
Despite reading the wiki page on doxastic logic, not sure what kind of reasoner this is. Maybe a timid reasoner? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doxastic_logic

I'm shrinking! The scale says I've lost 1 lb over the last week, in 2.8 years I'll disappear.

That's the self defense advice.
Imho, the other part is more focused agendas, invite fewer people, more 1:1 meetings, 5 minute gaps between meetings, give people 2-4 hour block of time to actually do work (6 hours meetings means no work)♡ 0 ↻ 0Also, for people that call meetings, remember, when you call 10 hours of meetings per week, most people are subject to at least 4-5 more people capable of calling 30 hours of meetings per week collectively. And gee, now we got 40 hours of meetings.

This tweet is about Microsoft SSIS. https://x.com/nickm_tor/status/860234274842324993
MS-Teams really discourages group chats. I think it is subtle problems with the "Teams Team" concept (first, what $#!+ name) where you never get notifications that anyone wrote in the Team section. So you have to do a multiperson chat, which keep chats private to those people.
You might think this is a feature, but in Slack, you can create public channels that are discoverable & people can self-add themselves and there is an effective notification system for when there is activity in a channel. Teams has none of that.

Is the Subway tuna sandwich vegan, because it if is, they probably could sell more. Obviously, the people buying it now don't care, (did they not buy it and eat it?) but some people want their fish sandwiches to have no fish.
Not enough for bingo, but I usually don't read contracts I'm working on.

1st step to working with Sharepoint is to install nodejs? Last time I worked with SP 15 years, a dev environment needed a quantum computer or better, it was impossibly slow with 2005 hardware. I guess this means node runs on quantum computers.

"Computer Engineering" job in DC/State Department, but they want a LICENSED, FAILED engineer who couldn't hack it in Hydrology or Physics & is going to settle for a job backing up databases, writing some R and Python.

Distributed monolith. I guess it makes it clear why architecture is so much about intersystem messaging technologies. https://x.com/DefenseCharts/status/1406989534328504327
Job spam "remote til covid (is over)"-- whee, work for 2 months remote then move to California. Who are these clowns.
If superstition and magic are bunk, then why do all these things work for getting docker to start?

- clearing stuff
- relogging in
- changing daemon
- killing & restarting services
- rebooting
- not rebooting
IDEA: Blacked out, redline edition of Toyota Sienna.
True fact: The Toyota Sienna's battery is under the drivers seat & probably in part because the engineers knew the air conditioner would be running to keep the battery cool.

So DLNA & Miracast, so far they work with nothing that I own. HDMI cable works.
I'm guessing this is because MS and Google are in hardware again, so they have an incentive to make sure google works with google & nothing else (& ditto MS)
HBO Max now has the attention of all the software developers & server admins. In a way, is this an accidental help wanted ad?

Depends on if this is project management, where the PMs will just crank up the management to 11 until security gets better, just like how SDLC cranked up the meetings & project plans until code quality improved. https://x.com/michael_w_hicks/status/1404760255897145349

With a heavy heart I'm turning over my obsolete tech books to the big blue boxes to be pulped (most likely).
I considered setting MS Ajax on fire but surely it will be pulped & just as effectively save the next person from a mistake.
aspnet 2.0, sharepoint, ancient javascript books, sql server analysis server & mdx-- already to be pulped.

Latest news on back-to-office plans for feds dropped, no more 25% cap & agencies have to decide what they do in next month or so. Once they decide, staff get 30 day notice. So for some of us, 2 months & back to the office?

tired: jmeter
wired: locust - https://locust.io/
Use jmeter for manual load testing if you can't write code in any language. Use locust if you can write python. The GUI just makes it harder to use.
If you throw 1000-1,000,000 people off an 80-foot cliff, some of them will survive the fall. 80-foot cliffs are therefore a safe, acceptable risk. As long as the action & the result were separated by enough years, all of you would happily take that risk. We really suck at risk.
300 ft falls are looking pretty safe too, one person survived- https://sjtrem.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1757-7241-19-63

IDEA: integer version numbers.
No more dishonest version number parts (not a breaking change? hahahaha)
Built into all programming languages
Understandable by children
Easy to order
Converts to all overly complicated version strategies
Does everything versions # should do

From the same org(s) that put up jobs to hire devs for $45,000, that take 4 months to get back to you and that are pretty much guaranteed to not give you a raise & that put you on a bench with no tasks for the first three months.... https://x.com/_mjlerner/status/1401908910991282179
I mean sure it is a good idea and I'd like my 5 year old to drive themselves to the playground in the family van too.

COTS for mission-critical apps is bad. The sooner that fashion can swing against COTS the better.
(But COTS are good for Excel & Word, so I guess getting people to understand nuance is going to be a slog) https://x.com/waldojaquith/status/1400899136258514949
