An ECS health check should only check for the health of things *inside* the container. If your health check reaches out to a DB & that DB is down... the ALB will start crash-looping the docker container. That won't fix the database.

Anyone deploy *any* python web app? Usually you have to put nginx or apache in front of the uwsgi part.
What if it was just an AWS Loadbalancer & no nginx proxy?
What would I lose? Is an ALB just as good as an nginx proxy?
ref: https://docs.gunicorn.org/en/stable/deploy.html
In other words, what the heck does that nginx proxy do of value?

So we got two promising vaccines.
Oh, I'm going to guess everyone is going to say "You should denormalize tables" but I bet if you probe deeper, it will be because relational thinking never clicked & they don't understand why you'd want data split into many tables. https://x.com/norootcause/status/1327746627323367424

1 to develop evil.
1 to test evil and see if works
1 to stage evil in Exegol as a final dress rehearsal with evil chanting for the Imperial Change Committee
1 to produce the evil."

__eq__ is automatically defined for Enum & str in #python now I feel like I need to override __eq__ in enums to safely use them.
The Martin household is going into FULL LOCKDOWN and we're gonna... we're gonna....
do the same thing we've done since March & stay home and watch Disney Plus.
Also still watching the clownshow from my window, but this is a dark clown show with a lot of dead people and people who don't know they'll be dead soon.

IDEA: what if #pip mocked out all the dangerous apis, (system calls, network calls) so it could install in "safe" mode. A poor man's sandbox.

These covid notification apps only let 1 run at a time.

personally, I wish lynx would just subsume all the commanline features of curl/wget & I'd just install lynx

IDEA: Instead of hyperloop, I will give people piggyback rides to downtown DC.
- Innovative
- Flexible routing
- Runs on wheat & rice, not diesel
- Requires no collective action from anyone
- 8MPH in speed tests, will overtake bullet train in 13 years
- High tech, I write code
Montgomery County Schools looks like they are going to be remote all year except for special classes and parents, for lack of a phrase, have a hardship exeption. Just my take from reading their parent survey I took.

Do you have a huge AWS Config bill? I do! As soon as I get a chance, I got to do this & find out why. Some blogs think autoscaling is a likely culprit. I wonder if ECS crash looping is.

PROD = current broken stuff
STAGE = new hotness that no one trusts
TEST = new hotness that no one trusts
DEV = new hotness that no one trusts
WORKSTATION = Where we make changes to PROD that will be pushed to prod because we're out of environments to cascade thru. https://x.com/tobyw4n/status/1326616332335534081
Y'all think I'm kidding. The last one gets formalized as BREAKFIX - the environment where changes are tested by someone completely unfamiliar with the app because it is on an airgapped network separate from users who could test it.

Thinking about the "no one can run them when you leave" -- this also has to do with how purchasing and orgs systematically imagine that the cost of an app is only upfront costs & 0 staff, or one person, will take over the train wreck from a team of 12. I was that one person. https://twitter.com/krusynth/status/1325804233522868226
