Kind of like how we sing "ashes, ashes, all fall down" and don't know what it is about, in 1000 years we'll sing "gas, gas, gas!" at funerals & not know why.

Can't leave the house because of a heatwave, pandemic and because federal cops are seizing people off the streets. I'm cheezed off about the last one, time to write some more checks. Which org is acting in this space?
Can someone here write the fan-fic FAR for the Star Wars Federation & Empire & the sci-fi adventures of the people working in the contracts & purchasing department?

My epi model
day 0, everyone inside
day 1, 1/3 of people run out of money & must leave home, they get covid exponentially. Folk inside: linear 0.
Each n days x% run out of money & have to leave & immediately get covid.
We run out of money linearly.
So the growth will be roughly linear until we all get covid.

Continuous deployment & feature flags are an apex feature that you'd only expect to implement after getting the basics (unit tests, automated proving that things work) before moving on to more hands-off patterns: https://cloudirregular.substack.com/p/youre-not-ready-for-feature-flags
Who we blaming for slow network speeds today?
I'm going to take a break-- everything is slow, DNS names aren't resolving, I don't even know who to blame anymore.
Bandwidth so limited that when you type in a console, it takes a while for the letters to show up.
At Florida's rate, unless they can really crank up cases with bans on masks, mass political rallies & forced school openings, it will take 4 years to infect everyone in Florida.

IDEA: all variables will be permutations of _ - – —. Just forget the letters, it will be all underscores, dashes, en dashes, m dashes and so on because nothing means anything. Why name it x when -–—_ and _–-— are perfectly good identifiers.

I want to do something nice for the community. Send all your bitcoin to /dev/null - if everyone does it, there will be one less cryptocurrency in the world! That is worth way more than doubling the amount of cryptocurrency you hold.

Seems like everyone else on twitter is doing this, didn't want to be last to the party.
logger creates error files so fast that I am googling how to delete a folder with lots of files in it. rm -rf is too slow. Boggles the mind that this isn't a single transaction on the filesystem, but some factor of the # of files.

Optimization problem: You want n bananas. The units the shopper will get will be chosen at random, bananas, lbs or bunchs. If you want n banans what number should you choose to minimize the difference between desired and expected.
You want 5 bananas, but you might get 5 bananas, 5lbs (15 bananas) or 5 bunches (35+ bananas). So optimally you'd order something closer to 2.

Fortunately, these life and death decisions are being made with democratic input from all, informed experts and... wait, nope, made by a demonstrably dim bulb who purchased their job with campaign donations.... https://x.com/LongerTables/status/1282122551481774081
The federal government can't figure out how to get cases reliably above 30,000. At that slow pace, it will take 10,000 days to finish infecting everyone, or 27 years. If the rallies can get rates up to 160,000 per day, the epidemic will be over on election day. https://x.com/mistersql/status/1282363313482063875

Folk saying reports of covid parties are "moral panic"- I think I've seen 'em televised, so I'm not panicking to say they're real. What makes it a covid party?
Rallies == Specifically, lots of people, indoors, close together, all yelling and stuff & no masks. I don't consider Disney or a crowded beach to be in & of itself a covid party because I have read of any contact tracing blaming sparse-ish outdoor crowds.

Almost all companies we buy from are just fronts for funneling money to the Republican party, but Goya doesn't have the good sense to keep quiet about it. Lots of companies sell black beans, vote with your dollars & ballot.

I'm learning to play Griftlands. From this video, when the characters are standing around idle, you can see from the labored breathing that they all have coronavirus. IIRC, this was true for idle World of Warcraft characters, too.
