This security training is really encouraging the idea that the hackers you will encounter have a specific, sinister look to them. Because real hackers don't show up at your office in a white shirt, tie with a lanyard with the company logo that you can buy from ebay.
System has complexity rules: I choose 8 char password. System has no rules, I choose 40 char lower case. Those complexity rules really are doing a great job to encourage me to pick high entropy passwords.</sarcasm>
in b^e if you increase the exponent, you get a bigger result than if you increase the base. If this wasn't true, we'd just write big numbers in base 1 trillion instead of using scientific notation (base ten + exponents). TODO: mathematically prove this.

I'm trapped in my seat. I don't want to have to come back and re-log into 3 machines, one with 2 factor auth. One more machine on my desktop & I won't want to get up to go eat either.
Minutes left before polls close & 50%-50% for long lines vs narrow lines in python source. I say lets compromise & take the average. (79 + 88 + 120 + ♾)/ 4 = ♾ https://x.com/mistersql/status/1174423018665365505
Ever see this form of 2 factor access?
"Remote access from Ubuntu 14.04
(There's a lot of dead-chicken-waving here.)"
Ah, the pair to the Halting Problem, the Resuming Problem. Also related to the Booting Problem (will this ever start). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halting_problem https://x.com/vcsjones/status/1174737966184521729
Just in case, if any hacker want to fill in my time card my password is qp48B%<Xp^*V#4pk. And the status report is due at 4:30, please do that too. https://x.com/MeetingBoy/status/1174142256409972736
Ever need an HTTP website so you can get on to wifi because the wifi router is trying to route https traffic the router to click a ToS?
http://Nohttps.com is now a parked domain. http://neverssl.com now takes its place.
Best way to solve a problem- type the entire message with details into slack... and just before clicking send, try one more thing, never mind problem solved.
You can work at Library of Congress, too, check out this Crowd Source app to transcribe, tag & review docs.

Things, I wonder, did the copyright office get the scoop on the title of Star Wars 9? In news about April 12. In public records site April 30.

WANT: google maps, but for routing all the paths you can take jumping from building to building like spiderman.
I mean, they man must have his limits. Can you imagine jumping all the way across Manhattan only to realize you can't cross this street here and have to double back 30 minutes? Or worse, walk on the ground?

I've yet to meet anyone that cared about the AWS/K8s bill. $10,000, $50,000 $infitity--- no one cares. It is someone else's budget. That is the magic of cloud computing, someone else computer, someone else's budget. Budgeting & cost control hasn't caught up. https://x.com/davidhessler/status/1173264182118158336

so is punishing loyalty a bug or a feature? Some firms really do want to push folk out after x years because it clears the dead wood. On the otherhand, punishing loyalty pushes out the top performers & key staff too. https://x.com/ozm/status/1172574545573797888
NOAA Chief also says that from now on Hurricanes/Typhoons will only hit the blue states of California, Massachusets. Weather in critical swing states shall be sunny. All future messages from scientists will be reviewed for political accuracy.

In a training video, don't fill the fields of a form with "test, test, test." It sends the message that nothing matters & doesn't convey what anything is for. https://x.com/mistersql/status/1172838972319588352/photo/1

It should be in people's resumes.
I don't remember why I'm retweeting this, but Pluralsight is good enough that I've used my own money for it more than once. https://x.com/pluralsight/status/1093608707655491584
