Car Review: Look at this absolute unit. This is the 2019 RAV-4, a SUV design to replace a sedan.

I've been on the hiring side a few times. I read "Smart & Gets Things Done" by Spolsky for prep. My goal is to find some evidence of aptitude, so I offer candidates to:
1-show me their portfolio
2-do a short coding puzzle of their choice
3-answer some medium level tech questions♡ 0 ↻ 0In a typical batch of candidates, *no one brings sample code or has Github with original code*. If you don't have a portfolio & don't want to whiteboard, I think you've got an attitude of entitlement.
♡ 0 ↻ 0I'd accept a methodology answer for 2&3. Too many would-be devs have no idea how to tackle a problem over their heads. "I'd break that down into a dozen functions and ask on StackOverflow how to implement most of them" is an okay answer. (I'd check the candidate's SO activity!)

I think, displacement to horsepower ratios for cars is like overclocking for CPUs. lots of HP to a small displacement (in Liters) is overclocking an engine for extra power at the risk of it breaking.
