Possibly bad tweet sized summary of EA. It is:
- magical process to create magical big document
- Inventory of all apps in org
- A bunch of smart people who have to think up some additional things to be useful, such as mandating/prohibiting the uses of certain tech/versions/etc
Because EA is based on a magical process, people can project onto it anything they want to. You think EA is like a technical lead for all technical leads? It is! You think it is an inventory of data dictionaries and app arch diagrams? It is! It is whatever you want it to be.
♡ 0 ↻ 0I read a metric crap ton of of Buddhist philosophy. For a 1000 year period, Imperial China funded Buddhist monks to do practical magic, make rain, protect the boarders by *chanting*. An imperial bureaucrat wrote a famous document saying this was no way to run a government.
♡ 0 ↻ 0The source EA documents reminds me more than anything of the prose tricks you find in the description of practical magic-magic that (claims) to do use stuff--lots of words that are never operationalized to concrete meanings. Because if you did, you'd see there was no there, there

I do like the idea that EA in practice involves mandating phasing out paper tape as a storage medium & other crap that big orgs might like to hold onto forever, rather than migrate.♡ 0 ↻ 0
It's time gave people what they seem to want. "A Tale of Two Cities" in PowerPoint format. Maybe a http://Gutenberg.org utility to transfer books to PPT. Man, this PPT I'm reading has a lot of text.
IDEA: Readability score, except it assigns a number from 0-100 for how bullshitty the document is.
Probably could do this with machine learning.
Wow, what an idea. Make management at meetings sit & quietly read a 6 page document because, in part, you can't trust folk to read a medium length text with any level of attention anymore. Flipside, make management write a document they *know* their peers will read. https://x.com/tbCvh863cMspPa/status/1123748978355527682

If you want to save pedestrian (and maybe bicyclists) from your own manslaughter machine, get a car with Automatic Emergency Braking.
Personal action isn't a good substitute for collective action, but this one works well enough to show up in stats

My son vouches for the company, good work for a good company.
Lousy product (self destructing DVDs) is covered by a broad patent. So now that the company that tried this idea and failed is going to prevent everyone else from trying this stupid idea.
Patents for the forces of good, in an unexpected way.

HR and management jobs... I guess techie jobs to come soon? https://x.com/zamandigital/status/1123235899817496577
I would trade a 200 page requirements document for a 200 page statement of what the problems to be solved are. It also moves the burden to the people who know. No one gets that level of cooperation, so I'd settle for a vague wish list & general description of the problem to solve https://twitter.com/bdkosher/status/1122937970561097729

Arithmetic "age capcha" broken by Generation Alpha* hacker
* Gen Alpha is, like, kids https://x.com/travispew/status/1122570793597140997
I just verified my age by sending an email that said, "Man I'm, like, *old*"
Has nothing happened for "age captcha" ever?

I bought a FaceBook portal (folk in the family think it will increase talk time between the very old & the very young in the family- the 3y/o doesn't email, the grandparents need video chat to be easier than skype) https://x.com/mistersql/status/1121614099723497472

on FaceBook, I've only met that person/relative a few times in person...not sure I want to follow them.

Kubernetes is automatically a chaos monkey- it will terminate containers and move them to new nodes if it feels like it. Kubernetes does not file a change request nor does it attend the Change Control Board's meetings before doing so. https://x.com/OtherDevOpsGene/status/1121437288674861056
A policy of mass incarceration is a form of voter suppression. I once interviewed for a legislative analyst job. When politicians pass a criminal law bill, they have a good estimate of how many more people will be jailed & who they normally vote for. https://x.com/edyskant/status/1121390253468725249

PsyOps is using Park Jae-sang's lyrics to influence the hearts and minds of enemy countries. #theMoreYouKnow
This is so narrow. Billions of fake accounts, billions of PsiOps tweets from foreign governments posing as locals and we now can report .000001% of them
