If slicing can be extended to negative numbers, `sys.argv[-1:]`, seems like we should be able to

I got an #python app and I wish it would install myapp[all] by default and myapp[core] if specified, e.g. on a build server. The options look bad.
- Split package into 2, mypackage-core and mypackage.
- project.optional-dependencies has `[all]` and `[core]` and `dependencies` is empty, eg default installation is broken.
- Default to installing dependencies, make people add `[all]` for what should be the default experience.
Roughly [all] is for desktop use
[core] would be for the same app on CI

@mheadd Have any agencies unbanned it? What I've seen is it just getting blocked every where and the usage rules so restrictive it isn't worth risking your career.

Brought to you by bot written code where the bot never has a good feel for what is private. Will some future hypothetical code call this function? Only humans are arrogant enough to think they know. Suddenly the code base is full of _f() calls from everywhere and the bot is reluctant to write a unit test against an underscore function
My LLM workflow
- If conceptually difficult, ask the bot to write a PEP-like or other design document
- Ask the bot to write code
- Carefully integrate it, run old school linter, unit tests, etc
- Try it out in real life
- Run code thru condenser/markdownifier so I can paste the whole context into a large context model
- Work with one bounded feature at at time
The bot almost *never* foresees problems I have with the design when used in real life scenarios.
Effort saved: none! I get much more ambitious. Everything has pluggy and uses all the argparse features
Catastrophic errors that were my fault vs bots - about equal. The bot making a catastrophic error is not that big of a problem, I can see it and tell it is off track.
Bot finding mistakes - it finds mistakes at about the same rate as unit tests & creates the same sort of design pressure. If the bot doesn't get where you're going with the code, you gave it a bad/fuzzy design goal.

Working out a way to compile python to `bash -c {0}` templates inside of yaml, `bash -c "python -c "print("hello")""" - it's going to be escaped quote hell
