- like parachuting into unknown enemy territory
- you remember every time you were burned by a bad career choice
- other leads that sound good may or may not be in the pipeline
- you have to be mean and say no to whoever made the first offer

Went to an in person tech meetup, 1st one in years. Learned about #dotnetaspire and #otel - which generally is a dot net fluent api alternative to docker compose and also a fancy retry-like library and an otel dashboard for use at development time, but can also be pointed to some grafana-like server.
@michaelc I guess that could happen, somehow the money going to the federal government would need to instead go to the state governments to make that happen. I guess via grants. This sounds like something a policy wonk propose, the current administration doesn't strike me as policy wonks

- The original owner of the repo that I forked **approved the PR**

I'm trying to block the behavioral addiction sites at the router and
- browsers don't use DNS like they used to, Mastodon is blocked on my phone, but on win-chrome, it's like no block at all.
- youtube is doing something completely different, not blockable
- browser plugins work, but you need 1 per machine pre browser
A personal cloud account is so risky. The companies let you do infinite spend, not caring if you are not a company or an individual. No individual should be automatically granted the credit to for infinite spend.

I can't stop thinking about Behavioral Addictions right now

In the last 10 years we created a generation of young people with behavioral addictions. I think the media's "young people these days" articles are about the consequences of growing up with behavioral addictions.
We viscerally understand the disadvantages of a child bound to a wheelchair, or other disability, but behavioral addictions robs a child of their youth, the ability to put time into the things that lead to career growth and will let them escape poverty after age 20.
I lived more or less in poverty from highschool to my second job.

- Years worth of literature & youtube lectures- free
- Datasets- free
- Coding up the basic app- free (by bot or by writing 100 lines of python)
Seems like this should make it useful in all sorts of places where high powered stats would have be stupid in the past.
Things I've started skilling up on because of job phone calls:
- dotnet core, ansible, bash, git, old dotnet, leetcode, go, AWS (many services), security+, ORMs, EMR, ...
It's too much. I can**'t** see how I can be everything to everyone and a deep expert in each and demonstrate it all on demand.

IDEA: Instead of HackerRank, PortfolioRank, so some machine can evaluate your portfolio and decide if you are worthy of a first round interview.
