Does anyone have the name for the process in IT where the friction involved in using a service is ratcheted up so high and so fast that everyone stops using it?

@neurobashing Yes. In particular I want to get localstack off my laptop onto another machine that can run 24 hours a day, but not AWS. An actual AWS account just for the ALB, NAT for year & I could buy a machine. And a box in my room doesn't sometimes send me a $200,000 bill.

Shopping for compute is impossible. I just want to be able to run an unspecified amount of docker containers in parallel for unknown loads and not waste my money on an underpowered machine or and overpowered machine. Is that too much to ask for from a review?
