Well the late techies now begin their easterly migration away from the conference grounds back to their nests on the east coast.

Thanks sign, but I'm more like a monsoon
Is the cup 101% full or -1% empty? What does that say about your world view?
I follow tags and sometimes I see a tweet and think why is this here? Did mastodon go to algo-feed, and nope, someone spammed a tag.
If you edit a reply, does the message target ever get notification? Or do you need to write a 2nd reply with a diff to get someone's attention and edit?
The ambiance of a bar gives me anxiety. Is that why people drink, to deal with the anxiety that being in a bar causes? Because you could also just not go to the bar.
I have a more of a limerick than a question.
And by "know" I mean, I know a lot of keywords I need to google.
A ballroom (1000 people) presentation at a technical conference should be at what (college level) #confthatshallnotbeshamed

The level 5000 stuff is some guy at the front talking to 6 people in the audience. A conference really needs to have 2+ tracks, imho.

dodgy fact- The h1b visa is a bold main header visa.
Cell phones are so great. Just nonstop spam. I think we're about 10 minutes away from having to disable all calls from anyone except on a whitelist. This will be awful for dealing with vendors etc.
I want to learn how to speak so that my lips move and then 750ms later my words...show up
#ngconf2023 Looks like I can do a mobile side project with ionic - learn angular & you don't have to learn a separate framework to do mobile

I do stand up comedy. When I said "no blockers", I was joking.

TODO: create a Tour of Zeros app, which is editable list of all the 0s in mathematics.
Google says there is no recorded cases of crowd surfing at a technical conference. I don't know what the deal is, it is mathematically sound. 15 people can easily carry 1/15 of a person over their head.

Is people using ChatGPT to think up malicious package names an new AI centric exploit? I'm skeptical. This is AI assisted typosquatting. Meat based LLMs are already `pip install` ing packages that they think exist but don't, e.g. everytime you install a module by name when the package name has nothing to do with the package. Making the LLM part go away still leaves you with the fact that `pip install` just does what you ask.
Maybe if the default was, "Hey, this package is 1 week old, with 5000 installs and the author is anonymous with a guid for a name" we could reduce typosquatting (and variations on the theme)
Or alternatively, who is gullible, the person who runs `pip install` or the person who pasted in a `pip install` from #chatgpt - BOTH! Neither one involves due diligence!

Well, today I'm learning about accessibility because I can't see anything at this conference. Reminds me of listening to tech talks while driving.
Wasm & rust & Angular interop.
This sounds like a humble brag...this should be "I don't know what l am watching"

Gravitas also experience with having everything you say weaponized against you and knowing not to give people a weapon.
Watching live from #ngconf2023
#stackoverflow profiles don't have a slot for #mastodon :(
It's okay chair, you don't have to talk to everyone, some people are just here to watch the talks and find the crowds overwhelming
#ngconf2023 if you sit right next to the projector, the exhaust will keep you warm.
Got my pin from the Jetbrains booth. I'm going to pretend this gets me into secret speakeasys, like I imagine the vi people have

No search here. No way to tell how many times this joke has been made.

me: work on serializing data to markdown and back.
therapist: no. what? why would you do that?
Happy data center hot failover day. Who here is running terraform scripts to fail over to one of the other #AWS data centers?

#ngconf2023 An #angular reactive form doesn't have to be a form. (?)🤯
This still works. (I think)
```
<div [formGroup]="form">
<input
type="text"
placeholder="First Name"
class="border-1 border"
formControlName="firstName"
/>
</div>
```
ok, so far the difference is the "onsubmit" event- that doesn't work with a div-as-form. Also, onsubmit refreshes the whole page. click doesn't refresh the page.

I like big fonts and I cannot lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a PPT slides in with an 46 point font...🎵
Didn't realize my glasses were so out of date. First PPT I've seen in person since 2019.
If most software projects fail, what if most of the most were 6month disasters. Seems like you need to chart success vs how long it lasted. A society that fails fast is doing the right thing. Failed projects that go on for decades would be the scandal.
"The fact that someone could believe that says something about about something".... no it doesn't. It says some people are intellectually lazy and will literally believe anything, not that certain bad ideas are attractive to lazy minds means that something sinister is going on in the wider society.
Am I ready for #ngconf2023 to start? Yes.
Smarts is knowing you are getting 3000 calories for dinner paid for on expense report. Wisdom is knowing that you will regret eating that much while traveling and jetlagged. ( My fortune cookie, probably)
♡ 1 ↻ 0This is not a good time for my Lenovo's power supply to fail. I think it is a physical break in the wire so it is in the perfect position, it provides power.
♡ 0 ↻ 0#ngconf2023 Saw Joe Eames! My wife knows all the Hollywood celebrities names, I never recognize them. I see tech celebrities and I feel like I should get their autograph.
♡ 0 ↻ 0#ngconf2023 The bandwidth, we're crushing it. Just imagine 100s of people running `npm install` over conference wifi all at the same time. Normally you can't feel the packets passing through your body, but with this many bits being downloaded from npm, you can.
♡ 0 ↻ 0#ngconf2023 I'm going to try to open this in github codespaces, seems like that might work better for the `npm install` step
♡ 0 ↻ 0Yeah, need new glasses. I should have taken care of that 3 weeks ago. Good news, I can see the slides on my laptop.
♡ 0 ↻ 0#ngconf2023 Well, codespaces can't run vscode in the browser at this level of bandwidth. `npm install` succeeded on my host machine anyhow. Check out my sample app! http://localhost:4200/
♡ 0 ↻ 0Ah, can't post clickable localhost URLs in mastodon, this breaks a whole category of jokes.

Upgraded to Apple. Not sure how this helps because I can't open my laptop.
That scene in the Matrix where Neo says, "I know #NgRx" is so unrealistic. If it had worked, he'd have said "Really, no one can understand NgRx" which would demonstrate he'd learned everything possible.
I'm at #ngconf - I think all the chatter is on discord tho.

No one has created the soc library on the crates repo.
Disappointing. Tempted to learn #rustlang just for remedying this.

https://crates.io/search?q=so - isn't a philosophy joke, so I can't count that.
