BingAI or BinGai (瓶 外 - outside the bottle)?
I've clicked repeatedly on the "chat" button (alt H) in zoom and no savoury snacks have arrived. I think it is broken.
@neurobashing eslint with plugins + crank up the strictness (very easy to run with no rules enabled by accident)
you can run TS on unannotated js code it will find a few problems.
I'm looking for a "property testing" tool in js, havent' found one I like (it's unit tests with smarter random data generation)
sonar never seems to find much to complain about
Without type annotations, I'd put my effort into more & more unit tests/higher coverage.
A frog went to listen to a speech at the frog conference. It was ribbeting.
The Washington Post reached out to Json for a response. It had no comment.
Twitter account tools are switching to screen scraping: https://whosum.com/
#chagpt - The bots never ask probing or clarifying questions before launching into their essay-length answers. A pipeline could address this- have the bot generate an answer, then have code ask, "what is a likely objection to this answer from the user? Regenerate incorporating that foresight or ask the user for clarification" Then give the human the final answer.
Does #substack have a twitter clone called notes? Because I can't find it. I even sign up to substack as an author & a reader and I don't see any twitter clones. I think they just wasted their sign up buzz.
Following tags on Mastodon is "everything has been said, but not everyone has said it", except everyone is working overtime on the 2nd part and virtually no one that posts a tag, feels compelled to follow the tags they post to and to realize what is going on.
Before you post to a #tag , think of the people following the tag.
For example, the #tag tag is actually for graffiti and people talking about the day in German.
Military secret documents are okay on this site, but people report that this link is somehow banned here... testing

Works for me I guess.
Today is something about gunters I think. Ready Player One has really left a mark on culture.
#TypeScript / #Javascript is just nonstop astonishment.
The error message:
`Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'readJsonSync')`
The solution:
```
"esModuleInterop": true
```
The zen of TypeScript. There isn't a way to do it. But if there is, it is astonishing.
There are no tropes in #scifi that correspond to #ChatGPT because ChatGPT has such an instable identity (someone said it has Dissociative identity disorder) that it makes for a bad character, bad story, bad writing. (I'm not saying ChatGPT is a bad writer, I'm saying a human written scifi book with ChatGPT as a character is bad because the fictional bot would not have a stable enough personality/goal to drive a satisfying story)

# IT Jobs, a taxonomy
## Working class smart person
8 hours day, surge days at ship-to-prod times. Hard work, sweeping sand into the sea, infinite TODO-lists.
## Piece work
Work is so well defined a 3rd party contractor could do it, e.g. move datacenter to new building.
## Fireman work
Do nothing unless server is down. Then work around the clock to fix it.
## BS Job
Org is throwing people at the project with no clue what will work. Unclear goals & chaos, idle people for most of the year.
@krusynth Ruby and JS will interop with 0 byte messages between the processes. Sort of like one runtime nods its head to the other and the other framework just knows what to do.
IDEA: extreme convention over configuration. You just create empty .js files and the framework just executes a suitable application for you. Declaring types is too much work, writing explicit parameters is too much work. Let conventions drive your app, you know it was going to be a TODO list manager anyhow.
I can tweet a substack link but interacting with it is banned. FREE SPEEEEEEEECH

@TerribleMaps@en.osm.town temporary problem. They will be under the ocean in 2100.
Useful bots: I follow these to create jolly page decorations between the tweets. I could imagine a bot that move the emojis in a way that tells a story. The train is always travelling right to west. The fish are always being chased by some unseen bigger fish.
@ryguw@fosstodon.org Maybe? At least for some bots it is likely so, if you give Copilot sloppy code, it will generate more sloppy code. If you give it clean code it will generate more clean high quality code.
ChatGPT hates messy uncommented code & will clean it up. It also wants to answer at a high school/college level & when my daugher and I are prompting it, I have to keep reminding it to use a 1st grade reading level.
My charity this year is paying a huge tax bill because I screwed up the refinancing of a condo. Real estate is light gambling.
Imho, linguists have a hard time finding universals because the brain is using colocations, which really can represent all sorts of patterns/rules - The fact that #ChatGPT works in practice is a sign to me, that linguistic theories should reorient to collocation/statistics approaches
The horror of the unborn and undying monster is a metaphor for the dangers of using uninitialized memory and data structures and ungarbage-collected memory.

@levjoy nytimes: "So if someone usually returns to their activity within a week of having a seasonal flu, it may take two weeks to come back after having Covid-19. But it’s also taken some three to four weeks for a lot of people, and a fraction of people take considerably longer.”

You must not anthropomorphize #ChatGPT - you must at all times use funny analogous phrases like you're cosplaying Strange World.
The bot didn't answer, only people do that, it serialized a stream of letters to your eyeballs.
The bot didn't hallucinate, only people do that, it inverted the matrices in a way different from the way you would have.

You don't know how to react? It just typescript, how hard can it be.
My 1st grader used #copilot to auto-redo her essay, "About me" - it autocompleted all sentences with correct spelling until it said, "I'm 7 years old", which it refused to auto complete.
This is autocomplete that thinks about COPPA and ToS age requirements. Let's see your phone's autocomplete do that.
