When my terminal outputs BEL, I don't want it to play a sound or flash the screen, I want to to electrocute the person who added BEL.
(Possibly Baudot who invented a number to letter system with a bell in 1870!)
A pity he's dead and wouldn't feel pain. The ASCII spec writer would be a okay too if he's still alive.
