Are the bots realists or idealists... ChatGPT is effective deaf and blind. It didn't experience anything before the document started to generate. So any inferences it has is about ideas and it is ideas all the way down, no ground reality. So I think, if they could choose, they'd be idealists and not inclined to believe we exist out here.
