Software developers are doing something of value, nothing is ineffable, and the measurable thing they are doing, is going up.
That code is a liability is an argument that software development doesn't actually create value, but is instead more akin to ponzi schemes & fraud & don't actually increase GDP or national wealth broadly defined.
