I think Gnu CLI UX principles are fossilized in an arbitrary past. I think if you're writing a cli tool, you need a UI that isn't just-a-bunch-of-switches for
- initialization
- command selection/command arg entry
If professional software developers are only learning 2 or 3 git commands and switches, are they going to learn your 15 commands and switches? Maybe, but not if there isn't some 0 effort path to learning if the tool is useful enough to invest in memorizing the switches.
