TIL: Being a tech lead erode your skills from the standpoint of what your résumé
- You rely on specialists on the team to do what they specialize in, so you don't skill up in that area
- You are the IC of last resort so you get good at all the stuff not covered by full time specialists (e.g. dockerfile, crafting a nginx config, gitlab-ci.yml scripts, and 100+ things that need done but don't consume your every working day)
- & the obvious: some % of your time is supervisor, not writing code
