@jamiemccarthy Imho, the real news is that people have accidentally discovered that you can use cell phones to see aurora that otherwise would be invisible. This makes me think that aurora is cellphone-camera visible a lot of days of the year & we just noticed. Or people really are seeing bright aurora like they're in Alaska. People's tweets aren't always clear.
