Incredibly, it became a target of patent trolls who didn't realize Theranos was based on fiction. (Can you claim prior art to fiction & fraud?)

Incredibly, Fortress Investment Group LLC now owns these fan fic patents & can sue anyone who actually does create a machine to do blood tests on tiny amounts of blood, but because no technology exists, Fortress themselves can't exploit the patent any other way.
