How to fight config cluster f*ks:
- make a decision (not, oh, I dunno, I'll just implement this 60 ways & add a config option)
- convention over config (code has naming convention expectations, etc)
- env discovery (let the code find the tmp dir)
- Every three months delete all the code that references config and see if it causes any pain.
- Make build fail on >5 appSettings or .ini entries
- make everyone on team sign off on each new config setting
- deduct $1500 for each config setting from blamable developer♡ 0 ↻ 0And best of all
