My take away is that sometimes the good software developers aren't neurotypicals. This isn't a good-person bad-person thing, this is their mind is subtly not typical & if you read too much into it you'll think they're a bad person

The poor guy's marriage dissolved and his story of the marriage involves a lot of mention of the micro-optimizations you make in personal finance with people. (This could also just be an artifact of how people talk about failed relationships)
