Headcount multipliers
-
Overtime: x0.9 to x1.5
Unit tests-before/during: 3x
Unit tests-after: 1.1x
Linting: 1.2x
Build server: 1.5x
Tools: 1.75x if actually used
Hiring people late: .9x (Brooke's law)
Training late: 0.5x
Training early: 3x
Morale: 0.01x-20x
But I think for 95% of projects, we can expect to only see 0.01x to 1.01x increase in headcount from managing morale, i.e. it is so much easier to sabotage than to be the visionary leader that makes people sacrifice everything to get the job done.
♡ 1 ↻ 0"Training early" is just a condensed way of saying, hiring people who are already experienced.
