We have 160,000 ventilators in all of the US. So when we hit 1,600,000 simultaneous active cases, that's it. But systems aren't 100% efficient, so probably something less.
At 33% daily growth, that is in 12 days, next Friday, sooner in hot spots.
My first tweet had a bad parameter (10% need vents, not 20%) but thanks to the magic of exponentiation, the # of days only changed by ONE.
