I tried to run a virtual 5k race today. With a mask. I've been training 2.5 miles indoors every day, w/o mask. With mask, after 1 mile it felt like running at 15,000 ft. At 2 miles I had to take it off. So I need to start training indoors w/mask to simulate it.
The problem is that the wetter the mask gets, the harder it is to suck air in. It also felt like I was probably rebreathing a lot of my exhalation. Also, running indoor I can run 2.5 miles per 30m, instead of ~3. So I guess I need to run 45m to simulate the same outdoor distance.
