Somewhere on twitter is the opposite thread bemoaning the lack of social finesse of technical managers because they're likely to be neuroatypical & aspergers-like. (The ruby on rails guy comes to mind). The best solution is to have the org run by unicorns, techies w/ 18 Charisma.
