Behind every social media `bot` is a software developer who is writing a message, it isn't like C3PO artificial intelligence is pushing a droid liberation message. Scheduled tweets are the same thing. The message is always written by a human.
(excluding lorem ipsum bots, which is not what people are complaining about when the abuse the word bot.) What they should be complaining about are tricks to amplify a message on a platform, which could involve code or might not.
