My social media plan
- Strava (for running posts)
- Github Thinks file (holiday side project)
- Blogger (who reads long format now?)
- Youtuber (oh so much video editing)
- Instagram (what will I photo tho)
- Reddit (how does even work tho, it all topic based)
I'll post all my off-twitter experiments on this thread. I'm trying out Counter Social. Feels like the first days of twitter & looks like it is really trying to innovate on the microblogging thing with social engineering & not just CSS engineering.
https://counter.social/♡ 1 ↻ 0Okay, okay, I'll try Mastodon again. https://mastodon.social/@mistersql
♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm on #cohost but can't post. This user experience sucks. They should shadow ban new users, not prevent them from interacting with the site at all. Newbie social media website :(
https://cohost.org/mistersql♡ 0 ↻ 0Counter Social charges $5 a month before you can share a link to your profile page I'm mistersql there too, I guess you'll have to search.
https://counter.social/@mistersql♡ 0 ↻ 0I still have a blogger blog. You got tons of time to read, right? This time you don't heart the post, the post is about hearts.
https://mattwalksintoabar.blogspot.com/2022/10/so-you-got-chest-pains-and-want-to-know.html♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm still on Ello. Looks like a pinterest clone now?
https://ello.co/mistersql♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm on linked in, but to be honest, I'm not sure what sort of content to write there. Twitter type material? Blog posts?
https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewdeanmartin/♡ 0 ↻ 0Strava- I'm a hard core runner (at the moment!) and am trying hard to post real content there.
https://www.strava.com/athletes/21567664♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm on Instagram. Not sure who my audience is there. Looks like I've posted food & family stuff.
https://www.instagram.com/matthewdeanmartin/♡ 0 ↻ 0My youtube channel: More content as I get faster at video editing.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw1p2a3LW1VG7DTZQaT8Oaw♡ 0 ↻ 0You can follow me on Reddit. Not sure if that means anything. Reddit seems very "subreddit" oriented and not so much "content of people I follow" oriented
https://www.reddit.com/user/matthewdeanmartin♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm on NextDoor, come join the talk about dangerous pedestrian crossings and dog $#!+
https://nextdoor.com/profile/01qHTp6Yb45MLByL9♡ 2 ↻ 0And microblog - blog but has rss & mastodon integration? Doesn't look like yet-another-mastodon server.
https://mistersql.micro.blog/♡ 1 ↻ 0Goodreads, where you don't read about what I'm reading until I read something. Just imagine if twitter could make people read the article before mindlessly tweeting the URL
https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/781336-matthew♡ 0 ↻ 0Tumbler. Seems the same as Twitter, but longer format, more images and somehow even less formal/more casual
https://www.tumblr.com/matthewdeanmartin♡ 1 ↻ 0Here is my polywork page, they're trying to be a better LinkedIn or something -
https://www.polywork.com/matthewmartin♡ 0 ↻ 0Here I am on CommonStock another "single topic twitter analogue" all about stocks markets
Similar idea to Strava/Goodreads...even MySpace to some extent has tried to reinvent itself as a single topic (music) twitter analogue
https://commonstock.com/matthewdeanmartin/posts♡ 0 ↻ 0And now I'm on Tribel. Feels twitter-like, so far.
https://www.tribel.com/Matthew0a2505e/wall♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm on Friendica. So far it is all Greek to me. And Finnish. And German. And Faeroese.
I wonder what filter trick twitter does it make it appear like everyone is English speaking (yet I know there is a twitter community for just about every language)
https://venera.social/profile/mistersql♡ 0 ↻ 0I'm on Bookwyrm... which is a social network based on nginx 503 messages. Innovative!
