twitter archive export are unusually slow or broken.
If you wait & see, it will be much harder to rebuild your social network on mastodon, especially if twitter goes down hard (my expectation)
I don't think twitter will become unpopular, I think it will cease to function for several months and then stop spending money to bring it back up.
