#jetbrains - can I have a feature where every file has a "virtual" pair where I can paste in the new LLM and do the diff? Or diff against clipboard, I don't know.
Now:
- I can paste in the latest LLM's code and live with drift (yuck!)
OR
- create new file (sure add to git, I don't care)
- paste in code
- do diff
- delete file
Repeat, over and over and over
Did you know one of the better terminals is the one bundled into #Jetbrains IDEs?
I got a pop up survey on my work machine, but sorry, electrons are not going out of my work machine anywhere. I wish I could let them know, the terminal should be available as a standalone app, too.
You can tear it off the bottom and put it on a 2nd monitor, but it would be nice to have it as a standalone terminal.

My LLM workflow:
- Paste code into chat window, get new code
- Create code2.py file
- Compare and carefully sync the two files.
OR, overwrite code.py and then use the Jetbrains "local history" to compare against what was there and carefully sync.
In GPT3.5 days, the bots could not really edit a file, they would just go off in a new direction. 4o/5 will keep 95% and
- strip comments
- quirky formatting
- "stylistic changes"
- omit/add a line for good or bad reasons
@tyrel It's for people who like VSCode, but I try to use VSCode and I go back to #Jetbrains products because I can actually find anything. An IDE layout is like QWERTY and DVORAK, there is a heavy switch over cost. I don't know what I'd do if I was Jetbrain's product manager, VSCode is getting market share.

Good news, #pycharm etc will become conscious.
#jetbrains will bundle LLM code completion. Since I have copilot installed as well, which already conflicts with plain vanilla code completion, I wonder if I'll get triple conflicts (two AIs and code completion all attempting to suggest what to tab complete)

I regularly hit tab about that point and it takes me a few seconds to figure out why code completion doesn't work.
