There is a path to signing code in python, many large projects don't bother, the tools don't encourage anyone to notice or care that packages are not even signed.

The epic solarwind hack involved hacking & forging code signatures. For pypi this is trivial because almost no one even signs code.
__eq__ is automatically defined for Enum & str in #python now I feel like I need to override __eq__ in enums to safely use them.
IDEA: what if #pip mocked out all the dangerous apis, (system calls, network calls) so it could install in "safe" mode. A poor man's sandbox.

Does anyone know of a good linter for #python unit test source code? running pylint on the unittests themselves gives me a lot of useless advice-- unit test code is just so different from regular tests. (For example, all the unit tests get flagged as uncalled/dead code)

Calling #golang from #python is a no-go. It can be done but requires go->cgo->c/c++->cython->python and you still need to have excellent knowledge of c & c++ type systems.
And for all that effort, it is slower than a python-only solution.

#python Generators (the yield keyword) are slow in python because the underlying primitives of looping math, etc, are slow. Use generators instead as an API pattern to help developers fall into the pit of success.
