👻Cadence Lock a Story👻
My fitbit running data has been a lie! I thought I ran and generally had a HR in the 150-160 range.

NOPE! Fitbit has no idea of my HR when I run, it usually locks onto my cadence (steps/min).

Unless you have a separate chart of your cadence it won't be obvious when it has happened, other than that people have a pace to cadence correlation, so if your HR seems freakishly close to expected cadence, then you have cadence lock. The solution is to get one of those heart rate chest straps.

The chest straps are "so great" that the internet says they will be just as bad at rest as when running, which is bad because if you aren't sweaty enough or if the resistance of the band changes, the HR will also be wrong.

Fibit does accurately track
- steps
- pace
- sleep (hrs, not phases)
- *resting HR under <100 or so*
- distance with GPS (usually)
But NOT running heart rate.

Fitbit would *probably* track correctly your increased heart rate in a sauna (one joker on strava is posting his "sauna workouts") because no extraneous motion.
