56% percent chance of gov't shutdown this month. Congressmen telling journalists that it is 100% chance, just question of for how long.

For non-US people- the government has to vote on a budget & approve it or the government can't spend money. Shutdowns puts cities like DC on cruise control with a nearly empty gas tank because such a huge part of employment is the federal government. Contractors like myself usually keep working, but don't have government bosses to report to. It is a stupid way to negotiate public policy.
