- gab & the like. Defederate. The instance was created specifically to invite that sort of people.
- no moderation, no one at the wheel. Maybe? Seems more likely to attract spammers than other forms of bad behavior.
- mega instances. Uh, if you block the top 3, mastodon becomes a ghost town.
- self moderated (single user instances). Uh, you'll have to research them all individually

We share so much with bad people
- Neighborhoods, cities, states, countries
- Air
- Shop at same stores
I'm going to pick and choose. The benefits of not sharing something with bad people has to be commensurate with the costs. Emotional absolutism is a recipe for cutting yourself off from society while you shadow box an enemy that can't even see what you are doing.
"But Matt, you left twitter!" There were bad people on Twitter before and after the shattening. In the after times, the bad people got pushed to the forefront of attention and the good people got suppressed- reverse moderation. And there is a serious concern about Twitter's ability to continue to exist. So even separate from moderation policy, it doesn't make sense to invest more & more effort into twitter when I can get my social media from somewhere without those problems.
