- opensource. That tools needs to write to a db ($), probably has no way to collect $ from users, could last for decades
- SaaS for cli tool. Who would pay for that? The CLI would have to somehow authenticate to the SaaS.

Anyhow, this seem so much harder than hit counters on a webserver

- already has a db
- not deployed on your users machine
Bash history analytics is cool, but again, probably telling you something you already know:
