There is no activity on Mastodon as far as I can tell. Anyhow, I'm going thru a bit of anxiety and I think I understand how chanting works:

It fights intrusive thoughts. Repeating words w/o any particular semantic meaning is useful for getting to sleep and calming down when intrusive thoughts are setting off your anxiety.

Is this avoidance? Well, maybe, but sometime you need to get to sleep, you need to get on with the day and the anxiety is getting in the way.

Deal with your emotional dysregulation's roots on your schedule, not every time it pops up.
