When interviewing, you don't need to ace the coding challenge (that an LLM could do), you don't need to know all the knowledge questions (that could be googled), but you do need
- to provide value somewhere
- do better than the other candidates
(standard disclaimer, coding challenges should easy & assisted live. & portfolio code is preferable to a coding challenge but realistically speaking, only 5% of candidates have portfolio code. 95% of candidates would like to howl about need to show code)

I think about 5% of people in the hiring chain ever looked at my portfolio code, so hiring managers have some blame how few people have portfolio code.
