I thinking about management advice & I it occurs to me that practices that work probably also depend on resource availability
- Do you have near infinite budget for salaries (i.e. can pay California tech worker rates?)
- Hiring/firing is costless? (So many people want to work at your FAANG shop the resume stack is infinite and hiring/firing has no org or legal speed bumps, like Europe has?)
- Are teams in 100s, 10s or 2s of specialists? (Everyone is doing 3 specialist jobs)

(This has a parallel in the world of nutrition research, saffron, nut consumption usually show up as good for your health, relative to people who don't consume. But those are expensive foods, so w/o controlling for resources & wealth, your health advice just identified the markers of "wealthy"... so if high performing teams do xyz, maybe we should think if it has to do with paying triple normal wages and taking the best talent in the country)
