1. ALL R&D is mostly waste that doesn't pay off.
2. New tech gets more efficient over time. (See groq https://groq.com/ which is doing inference for 100x less electricity than two years ago)
3. When custom chips are made for model training, they'll do 100x more compute or same compute with 100x less electricity.
