So my economic anxiety is off the charts. As an American, and no one freaks out like an American, the news is toxic enough that it is making it hard for me to get life done.
I installed Block Website and I think it has freed up a lot of time.

It freed up so much time, no I have to decide what to do with all this free time. I've resumed reading paper books. Time spent doing activities with the kids is way up. I've started sitting zen again, albeit for really short sits. I'm trying to cook more.
Turns out lifestyle design is hard now. In the good old days, everything was so inefficient, the world designed your lifestyle: driving everywhere to do errands- return Block Buster, paying utility bills in person, commuting,
picking up packages at the post office.
Esp post-covid, I got a lifestyle where I don't need to go anywhere. There is no friction left.
We all got a blank canvas and it is up to us design our life.
What is worst about this redesign is all the things I used to really enjoy were on the computer & now if I don't want my emotions to go all wibbly-wobbly, I got to stay off of the computer.
The main computer activities I want back:
- googling stuff to read (w/o algo feed)
- watching stuff that I want to watch (w/o algo feed)
- side projects (joy is getting a program to work)
- writing
- discovering real-world things online (where are the !@#$ in person meetups now? Apparently not on meetup.)
