So many things are marketed as "We are so left wing, anti-big business"

How many OSS project are big businesses behind the mask? If you don't have a high paying job at a big tech firm, how do you pay the mortgage so you can write code that you will never be paid for?

When you promote an economic system that guarantees SMEs can't participate, is it radically conservative?

We're so focused on not wanting to pay for software, we convince ourselves that it all radical and charitable when
- either this can't catch on
- is inconsequential (cute, your 30 line library is free)
- or if it does, only a mega-corporation can afford it
- (or a charity who is funded mostly thru mega corporation's charity, as if they're doing it just for good karma in the next/afterlife)
