@neurobashing Yeah, there is a high costs of dealing with news that is out of my span of control. I'm tempted to come up with some policy like, paying attention to the news around voting time (do my civic duty and all) and avoiding the news outside of that.

I've read lots on activism & what-can-you-do-to-help and unless everyone else happens to be doing the same thing (like, say the No Kings protest) I'm not personally making a big dent in US foreign policy. Short of switching my career to work for an NGO/non-profit, not a lot of good options for making a big impact above giving $ to those same NGOs.
On the other hand, the sort of organizations that get supported (by small dollar donations) as part of mass movements are sort of hit or miss.
